Sustainability

We care deeply about the environment and are committed to reducing our impact on the planet. Here's how we ensure that our jewelry is sustainable:

  • All handmade jewelry is made in Utrecht, the Netherlands

  • We strive for 100% reusable and recyclable packaging materials, using no more than what’s needed to protect the pieces.

  • Our freshwater pearls are sustainably cultured, which means that they are grown in a way that minimizes harm to the environment. All sea glass is picked up from legal sea glass beaches to help clean the ocean. Furthermore, all shells used are dead shells found on the shores with no animals harmed. Lastly, all shark teeth used are genuine fossilized shark teeth. This all includes only collecting materials that have already washed up on the shore and avoiding areas that are home to endangered species.

 

We believe that sustainability should extend to every aspect of our business, including shipping. That's why we re-use packaging, or use eco-friendly packaging materials and strive to minimize our carbon footprint. Here are some of the ways we're making our shipping more sustainable:

  • We use recycled and recyclable packaging materials wherever possible

  • We also encourage our customers to reuse or recycle our packaging materials whenever possible.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping

All packages are shipped within 72 hours on business days. 'Pre-order' and 'Made To Order' items may take up to 7 business days to be shipped. From the moment the order has been shipped, the buyer can receive a track and trace link to follow the shipment. This is only when a Tracked shipping option is chosen. PostNL is the shipping carrier used for all orders but might change upon the country of arrival. 

 

Shipping Costs and Delivery Time

There are different shipping zones, with different shipping costs. Therefore, we recommend checking the shipping costs in your ‘cart’. The track and trace will give you the best indication of when to expect your package. A general overview:

 

ZONE 1: Delivers in 1-3 business days. Including: The Netherlands

ZONE 2: Delivers in 3-5 business days. Including: Austria, Belgium, Denmark (excl. Faroe Islands and Greenland), France (incl. Corsica and Monaco), Germany, Italy (excl. San Marino and Vatican City), Luxembourg, Spain (incl. Balearic Islands, excl. Canary Islands), Sweden.

ZONE 3: Delivers in 5-9 business days. Including: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Republic of Kosovo, Vatican City.

ZONE 4: Delivers in 3-9 business days. Including: Andorra, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal (incl. Azores and Madeira), Romania,  San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom (incl. Channel Islands and Gibraltar)

ZONE 5: Delivers in 5-12 business days. Including: Argentina, Colombia, Curaçao, India, Iraq, South Africa, Suriname, Taiwan, Vietnam, The rest of world.

ZONE 6: Delivers in 4-12 business days. Including: Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Hongkong, Indonesië, Japan, Lebanon, Morocco, New Zealand, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, United States.

Tracking

Usually two options are given for shipping. One is uninsured (Untracked or Tracked option), and one is insured (Insured & Tracked). We advise choosing the Insured & Tracked option.

 

Uninsured:

When an uninsured package gets lost, Themidkids is not responsible for contacting the shipping company, though we will always help via e-mail. Because the buyer chooses the uninsured option, they are assuming the risk of the package being lost in transit. In this case, the buyer is responsible for contacting the shipping company and for covering any associated costs.

Insured:

When an insured package gets lost, Themidkids helps contacting the shipping company. This way we can figure out the best solution together. We always recommend choosing the Insured & Tracking option to make sure you receive your package. When receiving the Tracked & Insured package, the buyer signs for delivery.

Returns Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, and we understand that sometimes you may need to return an item. Here's what you need to know about our shipping and returns policy:

Returns

If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase, you can return the item within 14 days of receipt. Please contact us to initiate the return process. Please note that the costs of returning the item are the responsibility of the buyer. The products and extras need to be returned unworn, undamaged, and in original packaging. If the item is unpacked, damaged, and/or worn, the buyer will not receive a refund.

We recommend that you use a tracked shipping method and keep proof of shipment. In the event that a package is lost or damaged during return shipping, the buyer is responsible. Once we receive your return and verify its condition, we will issue a refund for the purchase price of the item.

Legal Information

As a Dutch online webshop, we adhere to Dutch consumer protection laws. This means that you have a legal right to return items within 14 days of receipt, as long as they are in their original condition.

Exchanges

Unfortunately, we do not offer exchanges at this time. You can, however, return a product and place a new order yourself.

Warranty

Warranty

All pieces come with a 6-month warranty, excluding damages of normal wear and tear. Therefore, a care card is provided with each order. This is to make sure you can enjoy your pieces for as long as possible.

 

Does your item have a defect? The defect or non-conformity must have existed at the time of delivery, and cannot be the result of normal wear and tear or damage caused by the customer. 

 

Are you unsatisfied with your item? Please send us an email at themidkidsco@gmail.com with your order number and a photo or video of the item in question, and we will work together to find a suitable solution. This can include for instance: a repair, a replacement, or a voucher for themidkids.
